Radiance

Overview

I am the principal and owner of Radiance, a consulting firm that has provided research, facilitation, and evaluation services to community-based organizations and grant makers for over 23 years. We help people gather and analyze data (quantitative and qualitative), develop evaluation frameworks and tools, engage staff and community members in learning and data collection strategies—both the numbers and stories that give them meaning—and offer findings and recommendations that will help them bring their programs, fundraising, and communications to new levels of effectiveness. Our key focus areas are reproductive justice, health, and rights; women’s and youths’ leadership development and economic security; and art for personal transformation and social change.

We practice culturally responsive and equitable evaluation and have supported funders in adopting principles of trust-based philanthropy. My diverse team members’ backgrounds, expertise, and lived experiences make us true partners on the journey with the clients and communities we serve. In close partnership with our clients, Radiance:

  • Respectfully engages staff and program participants in sharing their stories about how they experience and contribute to the organization’s work, and why.
  • Helps organizations build an internal, data-informed learning culture, so they can understand, build on, and communicate what’s unique and important about their work.
  • Sheds light on what changes happen for participants, those with whom they interact, and the larger community—the ripple effects.
  • Provides insights and recommendations that can be shared with current and potential funders, donors, and others to make a strong case for investment.

Our work helps organizations secure grants, supports community-led efforts for policy change, and provides information that enables our clients to become thought leaders in their field.
