Overview

With more than two decades exclusively in major gifts, Sarah Grebow of Sherwood Glen Consulting, LLC has focused her career on front-line major gift philanthropy and training, coaching, and collaborating with school and nonprofit leaders, Development staff, and board members in higher education, K-12 schools, and nonprofits.

Since 2017, as a major gift consultant, she empowers and supports nonprofits and charter schools with personalized strategies, donor plans, and action steps in all parts of high-level donor engagement and philanthropy. Sarah designed her approach to probing questions for major prospects throughout the fundraising cycle through her intensive training with the late Jerold Panas (a pioneer of major gift fundraising known for establishing best practices for engagement through donor questions).

Sarah currently volunteers on the board of City Neighbors Foundation (a nonprofit supporting three Baltimore City public charter schools), the board of Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School (a Washington, DC public school); the selection committee of University of Maryland’s C.D. Mote, Jr. Incentive Awards Program, and the grant committee of Towson University’s Tall-Wiedefeld Society.

She earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Maryland and her Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature (Spanish and English) with a Minor in Educational Studies from Haverford College.
